Summer Bassin
As the trout streams lose their flow and the insect hatches slow. Fly fishing for warm water species such as pike, musky, carp and bass can be a fun option. Warm water fly fishing is also a great way to tune up for a flats trip.

Summer Brookies
June through September is the best time of year to explore hundreds of miles of Native Brook trout streams in the ANF region. Not big, not easy casting but rewarding in beauty and quantity. Short rods, dry flys and short accurate casts are key to catching Natives on dry flies in this part of the country. Come by this summer and try to catch the only native, inland salmonoid in the Eastern US.

The Grannoms are Coming
May not only means leek picking, Trout Lillie's blooming and summer like warm days. May also marks the emergence of one of Trouts main food sources, Caddisflied. Every year right around Mothers Day, the famous bright green, Candy Apple Caddis, AKA Grannoms, flood the air like snowfall bringinging the rivers trout to the surface to feed.

Cold water and active fish
Looks like another great spring for fly fishing at Glendorn. Winters icy grip has left our rivers, lakes and streams running on the cold side for this time of year. Yesterday the river was a cool 48F! With the cool temperatures it hasn't slowed the seasonal hatches of caddis and mayflies down, with Quill Gordon's, Hendricksons, BWOs and Little Black Grannoms showing up daily. To sum it all up The Clarion River, Glendorns Spring Creek property and all the water at the lodge is fishing excellent. We can't wait to show you where the big ones hide.

Some guests are reporting catches of 50+ fish an outing. Our guides are busy netting doubles and even triples. New to fly fishing, no problem. Long casts aren't necessary with fish cruising close to the banks. Conditions will stay the same for weeks ahead. See you lakeside.

Celebrate Spring!
Spring is here, we'll sort of. At least the snow is mostly gone and spring rain is priming our rivers. It won't be long before the prolific hatches of stoneflies, caddis and mayflies are bringing the big trout up to feed. For now we'll have to settle for big trout coming up to crush our streamers. It's just as exhilarating to see a 20+ inch brown submarine out from underneath a log and chomp a 6" streamer. Come joins us for some streamer and dry fly action this April. See you on the river.
